Pit Fire Immersion

OCTOBER IMMERSION IS CURRENTLY FULL

During this immersion, we will explore many aspects of earthenware pottery; an approach to pottery that connects us to the clays of our landscapes, to community as we make beauty together, and the fire which transforms what we’ve created. This approach to pottery remembers that the natural elements, of earth water and fire, are equal participants in the creation process.

We will gather, refine and experiment with wild clay blends.  Two half days and one full day will be devoted to hand building and decorating vessels or sculptures of your choice - cups, bowls, tea pots, cooking pots, household items, the possibilies are infinite. Our pottery will be ceremonially fired at the end of the week.

Course fee: $300, register with deposit of $50

Location: Center for Rural Livelihoods, Cottage Grove Oregon

Lodging: dorm rooms (bring your own bedding) are available or camping

Food: Meals will be made communally, everyone will contribute to bring food and food preferences will be incorporated in our meal plans; food not included in course fee

Children are welcome
