Large Fire Licked Bowl

$75.00
Sold Out

This hand sculpted bowl was made with wild clay and fired with a traditional pit firing method.

Pit firing is an ancient and magical approach to ceramics; putting pottery on the earth and building a fire around it. The pottery comes out similar to a bisque firing and is unglazed. Unglazed pottery offers an amazing opportunity to commune with the clay as a vessel. Instructions for caring for this bowl will be included with order.

The bowl is unglazed, painted with two local clay paints, and sealed with a light beeswax finish to make it water tight.
